So I really wasn’t kidding, everyone from Alanis Morsette to the Biebs hit the stage for tonight’s AMAs and we’ve got our lineup of the top 5 right here.
Up first we MISS Selena Gomez who in our opinion, absolutely KILLED her performance of “Same Old Love” in which she strutted down neon staircase lined with dancers to spot her… just in case.
Not bad for her second AMA performance EVER but moving onto yet another Disney kid turned vocal powerhouse --- the one and only Demi Lovato! Demi hit the stage to perform a sort of Broadway-esque version of her latest hit “Confident” --- and need I say she looked fabulous?
But as if this performance wasn’t enough, Demi also returned to the stage for a second time later in the evening to perform with music icon ALANIS MORSETTE for the 20th Anniversary of Jagged Little Pill. No guys… I’m not lying. Demi & Alanis did a duet which is basically the best thing to happen to angsty pop music since… … well… uh… about a month or two ago when Taylor Swift & Alanis did the same thing… but whatever… just watch:
Next on our list is another artist under the age of 25 which really makes me question what I’m doing my life... but on a more serious note, is it possible for Ariana Grande to sound bad? No. the answer is no. BUT ALSO, this wasn’t just any performance of “Focus” --- she kicked things off with this old timey lounge version transitioning into the hit track everyone knows.
One more thing we should probably point out about Ariana’s flawless performance --- DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THAT SHE IS ROCKING A NEW HAIR STYLE!?!
And last but not least we could not forget the Biebs who… well honestly, he could have performed his entire album and we would have been happy about it --- but anyway, he graced us with not just one song but a medley of THREE. He first treated us to a slowed down version of What Do You Mean before moving onto Where Are U Now and then --- as if things could not get better, for Sorry, he sang and danced amidst a full own DOWNPOUR. Yes, like Bieber was literally soaking wet by the end of his performance. Watch:
And then there was a moment where we thought the Biebs might have something to say following the performance but alas, the show was running a bit behind and it looks like his mic got cut before he could get a word in.
