Germany decided to ban 18 Saudi Arabian citizens allegedly linked to the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi from entering the European Schengen zone, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas announced in Brussels on Monday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an EU meeting, Maas said: "As for the Khashoggi case, we still have more questions, than answers."
"We decided that Germany would put an entry ban in the Schengen system database beside the names of 18 Saudi citizens, who are suspected of being involved in the crime," he added.
Maas also noted that Germany had held discussions with the UK and France before taking this measure.
